The Modern Generation

We've been praying
Devout as we are
We've been wishing
That there will come an hour

In our hands we hold
Little beads, a cross
Since young we've been told
To please our Big Boss

As I open my eyes
I end the rite and see
What has become of us
Who once was said to be

There's a question on my mind
A powerhouse, are we?
We promised those around
We might've spoken bluntly

The time before they've ruined
Could it ever be undone?
Our names today are stained
Can we work today as one?

Today, we are still waiting
For new hope to arise
Onto ourselves looking
We will win the prize

We are the modern generation
We are not a few
I call for our action
We can make things new

My notes: this is supposed to be related to the Philippine's social structure today. I hope I get the "feel".
